Each of our superior Whetstones are made from the highest quality bonded abrasive compound of aluminium oxide or ‘ Corundum’. Unlike Natural Whetstones our bonded abrasives provide a faster cutting action and are considered superior in sharpening performance due to consistency of particle size and control over the properties of the stones.
Being a double-sided with coarse grit on one side and fine grit on the other enables just the one stone to satisfy the fundamental requirements for superior knife sharpening.
On average, each Whetstone takes several days to make from mixing, pouring, and then baked in state of the art temperature controlled ovens with only the very best MIKARTO Whetstones making it into one of our custom designed boxes, ready for delivery to you, our valued customer.
